I’m Jerome — a platform engineer with nearly 20 years of experience in software engineering across multiple countries.
I’ve worked in large-scale environments in banking, public sector systems, and distributed teams, gradually moving closer to infrastructure, platform engineering, Kubernetes, cloud (AWS, Azure), and Infrastructure as Code.
I’m curious, love building things, and stay up to date by experimenting, learning from real systems, and keeping an eye on emerging areas. Lately, I’ve been diving into AI infrastructure, exploring how to bridge cloud, automation, and intelligent systems through hands-on projects.
This blog is where I document what I learn by doing, sharing experiments, side projects, and lessons from real-world problems. I strongly believe in learning by getting your hands dirty, not just consuming theory.
What I’m working on
I’m actively exploring and building things like:
- Kubernetes The Hard Way On AWS
- Kubernetes Homelab
- Automating my local environment with a dotfiles-as-code setup
- Snapvocab a side project that helps Mandarin learners focus on the most useful characters
- Small AWS infrastructure projects
This list evolves as I experiment with new technologies and side projects.
Outside of tech
When I’m not working, I like to stay active and keep learning:
- Running regularly
- Strength workouts
- Playing tennis
- Hiking
- Studying Mandarin
I also enjoy traveling and exploring new foods along the way.
